I tried to search but my phone doesn't let me use the search function.
Ok I have a 2001 Cherokee and the rear leaf springs are actually curved the wrong way. The old ahole punk owner put huge blocks in between the leafs and rear axle. I now noticed the rear end is moving around because of them.

Now I don't mind how the truck sits currently and I want it to ride decent because its 99% a street rat. I have no lift or any other suspension mods. What leaf pack should I use to make this happen? I want a decent ride but I want it to sit where its roughly at. What do I need to do totally to complete this and what leafs need the least modification to work.

Please forgive me for asking this but I have to get this done next weekend so I can fix this right away.
Thanks for any help given

OK... if you are stock then you got a big issue with your spring packs .... those blocks could be under there to level out the truck because of the bad springs .... your best bet is a JY trip and 2 new packs.

Ok I was thinking that but I have been warned about the clip nut on the front end of the spring that they break alot. That's the reason I was thinking the bastard pack idea so I leave the main spring, chop the eye lets off the donor pack main leaf and bolt it together.

no shims.
just get yourself the s-10 pack (i used a 3 spring pack) and as you said, cut of the eyelets and insert them under your main spring, which you can leave in your jeep while you do this.
you will have to ream the center hole a bit to fit the new 3/8 center pin needed for the s-10 pack. this can be a pain in the groin as it's hardened spring steel. get the sharpest bit you can find. don't use a cheap one, you will curse while having that ohhhh no moment.

forgot, you want to keep this stock height. i would just stick with using the lower springs from the s-10 pack. don't use the s-10 main. you will end up with too much lift.
leave out the overload spring also.

you will need new u-bolts, center pins, spring wraps and spring sliders.

also, i use 4 good bessy clamps or large c-clamps to pinch the leafs together so you could fit the spring wraps.

it should take you a couple of hours per side, most of which is reaming out that center hole.

and remember, short to the front, long to the back.

I just did an S10 pack I used the Jeep main, S10 Main (eyes cut), Jeep secondary, and S10 overload. Gave me almost 2" over stock. If you dont want to ream out the center pin hole.... Grind it down (make sure its round) It is only 1/16 off. Took 2 mins on a grinder and they fit fine.

I fig if I didnt use the over load or the maybe the secondary Jeep spring I would have been less but was looking for about 2"s

Ok great info thank you all so much. Now one more question I promise. If the s10 springs need to be hogged out for the center pin does the Dakota leafs need that too or are they they the same size as the Cherokee leafs? I'm leaning towards the Dakota leafs because I've never seen a Dakota 4x4 leaf spring sag but I've seen s10 do it.

I cannot thank you all again for your help

Oh I'm not too worried about how high it sits, it already sits pretty high in the back and I kinda like it.

The S10 spring center hole is larger then the XJ. You will have to drill the main leaf of the XJ to make the center pin work.
