Has anyone measured the current draw of the coil in operation? The reason I ask is because I just installed a voltage stabilizer on my 1982 Yamaha Maxim 650. The stabilizer gives the ignition TCI, or ignition computer a perfect 12V at 6A even when the battery is below 8V. The bike starts right up and runs great. I know that the ground for the Jeep ignition coil is controlled by the ECU. I am thinking of adding the stabilizer so it powers the coil once the ASD relay provides the 12V. I plan on trying it some time soon, but was wondering if anyone has bothered to measure the coil current draw. Thanks.
