You'll be much better served with a rear bumper & swing out tire carrier designed for the purpose.

Ehhh 500 or more doesn't sound too good to me. The reciever made ones seem to work pretty fine

based on what ??

I've never seen a receiver based tire carrier on any jeep or jeep website......but i have seen tons of the swing out style design, and most tie into the bumper as well for strength.

Well considering I saw them on threads on this exact site. The posters also seemed to be happy with them. I could copy their design just wanted to see if anyone had any other design ideaservices. And like I said it just a stock 235 and the reciever has plenty of strength for that

Here you go I would just buy it since it's like $235 plus shipping

But if you want to get an idea here is someone who's built their own.

For that small of a tire just throw it up on a roof rack and be done with it, its when you get bigger tires with steel wheels that weight become a factor of doing that.

I built one that mounts to the hitch's cross tube. I'm going to be selling it and the receiver hitch soon as I'm building a DirtBound Offroad DIY Mojave bumper and tire carrier. This one has served me well for the past 7 years or so.

Is that a new bumper or the stock ones still in place? How much would you want for it?

In the pic is the stock bumper. One plastic end cap is good and the other was torn apart in a fender bender. I haven't thought much about a price on the tire carrier yet... I'll get back to you later today. I'd probably sell the carrier and the hitch as separate pieces since someone may not want one or the other and the tire carrier may work with another vehicle.

I really like the design and that it is off center. Could you post a pic of how it mounts close up? Is it just the 2 bolts holding it in? Could the d rings be used or more for looks? I am interested so please let me know a price.
