I have a 3" RC lift with long arms but I want 6 inches, I understand I will need a SYE. The jeep had the lift when I got it but I want more, so my question is will I be redoing the whole lift? Or just adding leaf springs in the back and redoing the front?

If it already has a long arm kit you can change springs and shocks up front and add an adjustable track bar. You should be able to keep the arms but they will need to be adjusted. In the rear change the springs and shocks or add shackles and change the shocks.

Don't forget things like brake lines and steering. Gears that come along with bigger tires, axles to support bigger tires. The latter aren't necessarily directly related to lift but you get the idea. Cool that you already have long arms installed though

Don't lift it more. If you want to run bigger tires just trim the fenders, add bump stops and put that money into regearing and a good steering setup.

Ok so what is a good steering setup? I like the idea because I'm about to go trim my front bumper tomorrow when it's warmer, and honestly I am pretty sure I can get by with 33's without trimming the fender in which case I will want to regear when I do that. I'm also thinking about adding 1.5" wheel spacers anyone have any pics of that?

I went from a 3" lift to a 4 1/2" getting ready for a long arm next year I did change gears and add lockers front & rear but the cost to get everything ready with all HD ft. end the works was about $4800. All this and most of it you can not see from a photo but had to be done to be safe even on a short arm.

Steering and driveline up to par are major items also.

a decent steering upgrade w/o too much cost is the zj solid tie rod , get the goferit insert & flip it to the top of the knuckle on the drivers side. a strong upgrade w/ better clearance. plenty stong for 33's, mine got done for under $200 w/ new parts & a local 4wd shop installed it for me. the bushing should be tack welded into place.

For $50 more you can get a 7/8 heim joint with 1.5in x .25 wall dom. Took me a couple hours to cut, weld, drill out knuckles and install.

I meant one that will improve driveability AND strength. Check out Ruffstuff if you have a welder, otherwise there are bolt on crossover steering kits. It requires upgrading to an Over the Axle track bar, but the end result is totally worth it. And yes, with enough determination, you can do crossover without a giant lift. I have 2.5". Plus its a future proof setup that you can run on better axles and bigger tires if you are planning those things. This setup is going on my wagoneer front axle with High Steer. I will make high steer work on a 2.5" lift.

Bump steer? What's that?
