So I'm sure this isn't terrible but it's probably not good lol. Anyone have any clue what would cause the leaf to go crooked?

Its just the short leaf not held in by the retainers so it pivots on your center pin

Take a hammer and put that ***** back in its place.

Careful with a hammer, I broke a leaf that way once. Might want to loosen the u bolts a tad before trying to correct that.

Mine gets out ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I knock it back with a hammer but I'm getting tired of it and don't know how to fix it.

Yep, a hammer and one or two extra leaf spring retainers. Just buy the cheaper ones with the tab you bend over with a hammer. You don't want it to spin over and get your tire.

If you find it isn't long enough you can straighten one end of the tab part; slide the tab part between the leafs and bend it back in place. They bend easy. They are less than $5.

Lucky for me I have a spring shop less than 5 miles from the house who build custom leafs and coils..they keep a 50 gallon drum of 2.5" retainers around so I hit them up when I build out a frankenleaf pack
