So long story short I traded a friend a generator for a couple bucks and he said he'll weld me up what I want for my jeep if I provide the materials. But I can't think of anything I want him to weld for me and I'm not good at doing all the measurements and everything. So I'd need something really simple or something with some sort of measurements to go off of... As always thanks in advance for all the replies! They're always appreciated!! Oh also if you have already made the item you are suggestion I would appreciate pictures. Here's my jeep stock bumpers and everything, I have a front hitch, rear hitch, no skid plates. And I'll answer anything else that would help.

 

Maybe get some diy bumpers and have him weld them up for you.Or make a set of rock sliders.

If you go off-roading in the rocks, I would suggest starting with a transfer case skid plate................and maybe a gas tank skid plate......
Maybe a couple little ones for the front lower control arms on the axle......

Then maybe add some rocker panel protection.................

I wouldn't worry about bumpers until you did all the protection underneath.......................unless you like the look of them, and really want one.

Thank you! And I wish I went in the rocks but mine is 98% road driven, I'm in highschool and my parents won't let me take it offroad...yet. So I might do skids if I can't figure out some other things to do. Thank you for the suggestions I appreciate them!

 

Hitch mounted spare tire carrier, roof basket, hows the floors? Nedd new floorpans?

Tire carrier cost me $55.00 parts and welding......

 

don't have a spare (never drive more than 20 miles from a tire shop and I can always call a parent to get them to come grab my flat and take it to the shop. Floor pans are amazing zero rust (perks of being in the south). I might look into getting a spare and doing that spare carrier thing though, but I don't know I don't have very much money to spend and it would be at least 200-300 for a spare (if I got a matching spare). Do yall think I could some way modify my trailer hitch to come through the center of my stock bumper? In the front and rear? Or would it just not work out well and be too much hassle?

 

If you don't have a spare tire at all, get a spare tire. They are cheap on Craigslist, here, or the junkyard.

 

Shoot........................You'd be safer off-road, than driving around town with all the other crazies on the road......................

You'll get there someday...............Can't hurt to plan ahead for future wheeling needs.

 

yeah they don't understand how fun and safe it can be to go wheeling... But true I guess it could never hurt to plan ahead.... I guess honestly bumpers would be the best to increase the safety for on road...

 

Maybe start out small? Have him weld you some little taillight protectors! Those are always fun : D And have him make me a pair too. Normally 60-120 bucks online.

 

I personally don't like the look of those too much and tail lights aren't too pricey to replace (not that I do anything that would break one) but thank you for the idea!

 

If you go off road id be more worried about busting a t case or gas tank.Them two things need to be protected first.

 

Alternator splash guard for da mud?
