Default Hubs & Rotors - Help Needed -

Ok, I've bought a HP D30 off of craigs list, the guy didn't know what year XJ it came off of. Soooo, my plans were to rebuild it, regear, add air locker etc. At this point I have taken everything apart, bought everything I need to rebuild it except for the hubs & brakes. I've been researching this quite a bit & I am worse off now than I was a couple weeks ago.

I want to run the Cast rotors (NOT the Composite's), I have since found out that the old rotors had the "top hat or 90 degree top" and that tells me that It had the Cast rotors orignially. Now I am planning on buying the Hub Assym.. and not knowing what exact year it is I checked partsgeek.com. This is what I have found.

Different part numbers & prices, does it really matter what hub I buy? If so, does it say the actual manufacture year anywhere on the axle? If it doesn't matter, do i just pick one & go with it??? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dan

Go with the 98 and older since you have the high pinion.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing about using the 98.... But WTF, how much can they change Hub's year to year... I mean, bolt pattern is the same, mounting pattern is the same, & their frickin bearings, I don't think they changed any spline counts or anything did they?.?.?.?....

same part number on 98 and older... I know in 2000 they switched to a low pinion... not sure why the break there is at 99. Just make sure you use timken for those hubs.
