Default How to stretch rear with what leafs?

So I want to look at stretching my rear axle about 2" back. Im going to build custom shackle relocators. But I want to know what leafs I should go look for at the boneyard to piece together to help stretch it? I have a set of RE 4.5" leafs now, but I cant use those for a stretch. So what leafs should I look for to make a set of leafs to stretch?

I will run a 1" shackle, so I need to make the leafs about 4.5" because with the relocators Ill gain another inch there.

I have flipped s10/dakota springs. It moved the axle back ~1.5" or so. I didnt really measure but just put the XJ next to it and figure out which way I wanted it mounted.

It's more like 6 inches. And u need to move your gas tank and build some anti wrap bar. Also will need to comp cut it.

even with a traction bar, flipped leaves never last long. the front of a leaf spring is supposed to act as a control arm of sorts, keeping the axle solidly in place.

i like the ruffstuff +2 and +3 leaf spring perches.

a friend of mine made adjustable front leaf spring mounts, in conjuction with adjustable leaf spring perches.

lots of good info in this thread here:

I went from RE 3.5 leafs to rustys 6.5 and it moved my axle back about 1.5 inches. I had to extend the rear driveshaft.

I like those perches, but I want leafs to help push it back to and give me a better shackle angle. Right now mine is almost at a 90 degree

I flipped XJ leaves on mine, and i got exactly 6". They fit great, and they work great as well. Whoever says it can't be done, it can. Read up in my build thread on it. But as stated above, i did have to move the gas tank back. but other than that, was easy to gain 6 inches of wheelbase. sure, the springs won't last as long. But it's a jeep built to beat. I don't expect much to last too long.

Im at a 105 inch wheel base....2 inch stretch up front and 3 inches out back. I was talking to you about my full stretch job.

Explorer leafs are alot longer and center pin is 3 inches further back than a stock xj.....plus the are pretty flat.
