I put a set of 32s on last weekend. Worked out that I had to trim the fenders to prevent rubbing. I would really like to retain the inner fender lining to keep snow and rain out of the fender wells. The outside lip (top) used to be fastened by the flare. Now that the flares are gone, how do I re-fasten the top portion of the fender lining??

 

When I trimmed my front fenders I rolled them in like you would when you trim the rear fenders. Then take your inner fender lining and trim it to where it's a little past the fender so you can tuck it behind the lip where you folded the fender inward. After its tucked behind then hammer the roll on the fender further around to permanently holding it in place. Mine has been like this for 2 Years and has never fallen out. Hope you understood what I was tring to say.

 

Makes sense to me. How about if the fender is already cut?? I trimmed about 1 1/2 all the way around

 

That should still be fine, just roll it around a little, maybe another 1/2" and that should be ok or a little less just so its enough to hammer it up against the inner lining to hold it in place.

Rivets, maybe? Or do what I did- ditch it and use a pool noodle with some expanding foam, then spray with rubberized undercoating.

 

I'm planning on doing the same but I also have already trimmed them. Does anyone have a write up for the pool noodles? I've heard of it before but haven't even seen pics

 

I'll go get a few right now, really easy- just shove em in there, spray expanding foam around, wait for it to dry, then spray rubberized undercoating.

Did you relocate the horn and vac ball then?

 

a few more coats of rubberized under coating and you wouldn't even tell it was there

 

There's alot of dust on it right now, and a little mud. (Believe it or not, I found some water out here) It doesn't stick out at all, I used the flash to take these.
