We just "softened" up my cousins rear leafs. 1 bobcat on a single axle trailer on the front, hook it to the receiver and let er sit for a day or 2 with bout 4k on the rear leafs. His at like 2" high in the rear now only .5" and rides way nice. The hitch started out 2 feet off the ground, when we but the bobcat on u couldnt put ur foot under the hitch!

Too much tire pressure can make for a very harsh ride.
Stock 225 tires calls for 33PSI, on my 98 XJ.
For bigger tires, I go with less PSI..
I put new spring on my old Plymouth, it took a couple months
before the car road good...

i run ~32 psi in my 33's and when i had 32's. i have the same tread wear as when i had 225's...i found i didn't need to deflate my tires just because they were bigger. i've got more square inches of surface but the pressure acting on those square inches is the same. this may be different for others with different style/size of tire though...dunno.

i drive on highway 80% of the time at 65 mph plus.. it helps gas mileage.. and i am not talking about my suspension being little ruff.. my suspension has almost 0 play when i bounce rear by jumping on the bumper up n down.. when i just on my buddys lifted f150 it has lots more bounce to it than my XJ..

its still too high. i drive ~28psi to get an even contact patch on the road. and like everyone else said, wait a while. toss some junk in the back. my first lift 6 years ago (rusty's 3" full leaf pack) sat at 6.5" the first few days. eventually it settled down and softened up.
