Default How do I determine how much lift I have

I purchase a 1998 XJ which is lifted, It needs shocks but I don't know what to order because I'm not sure how much lift is on it. HELP:

Someone just posted that recently from a late member here. I think it was 5. 75" from subframe to axle tube in the rear and 5" in the front subframe to axle tube as stock. Might be wrong but I tried to take note of this.

Two ways.
1.From the top of the axle tube to the bottom of the "frame rail" the rail and no linkage
front stock is 6.75"
rear stock is 6"
anything more is lift

2. If you have stock fenders
Measure from center of the wheel/middle of the center cap to the stock fender flare.
17 inches is stock. The front has about .5-inch taller stance than the rear.

Thank you... I stand corrected and I need to actually measure mine to see how far I am off on mine with what I know are sagging springs.
