How different OME spring rates feel...
I am considering two different coil springs to use to achieve 3-3.5" of lift.
One is OME 2930 (162 lb/in spring rate) with a 1.75" spacer. The other is just the OME 2934 coils (160 lb/in spring rate).
Stock spring rate is supposed to be around 147 lb/in if I am not mistaken.
For those of you that have aftermarket front coils, Would a change of 13 lb/in be very noticeable???
My source for OME spring rates is page 107 of their catalog here: Click me->http://www.jeeptoys.ru/2/!OME%20Cat%...9%20Update.pdf

13 lbs isn't too much of a noticeable difference. Do the OME 2934 coils provide 3 inches of lift? If so, I say go with those instead of having to use a spacer.

From the feedback that I have found, they stated the 2934 coils provide right at 3 inches of lift. They are actually 2 inch lift coils for a V8 ZJ. What is weird is that before I found the old man emu catalog specs, most reported 180 lb/in for the V8 ZJ coils instead of 160.

If you want a super soft ride try the 932 or 931 springs. The XJ is not a Buick though. They are probably too soft for off road use. They are probably better suited for 4-cylinder 2.5L engines.
Using the 2934 springs, you will get 3" on the taller spring and would add a 3/8" or 1/2" spacer on the shorter spring for even ride height. This assumes you do not have a heavy front bumper. If you do, you'll need a bit more spacing on both sides.
I have never seen an official reason why the OME springs are different lengths but I would guess its because the right hand drive models in Australia benefit because the steering, battery, and spare tire are all on the right side in Australia so the taller spring would go on that side.

For some models, like Wranglers with coils all around, there are 4 different OME springs. They spec the taller ones drivers front and passenger rear. If you find their setup questionable or will be bothered by a ride height that is not exact at all four corners then OME is probably not right for you. Right after install my rear leafs when installed were 1/2" different side to side. When it was all said and done my driver's side front/back is a bit higher than the passenger side front/back. It rides nice. My 01 XJ sits at stock height with Dorman 929-301 leafs and Monroe Sensa Trac shocks. It rides at 18" center of wheel cap to top of fender flare at all 4 corners with zero effort. Guess which one I like better? One things for sure, I will be doing something with the 01 XJ ... HTH with your decision.
