Sounds like your tie rod ends are ok. To check the hub you should take it off the axle and see how easily and smoothly it spins. New hubs are actually harder to turn because the tolerances are still nice and tight, a hub with worn bearings/races would spin freely and loosely. It should spin smoothly though , if it seems like there is grit/debris in there then you could have a boogered up race. They are about 100 bucks for the higher end ones from any auto parts store.

I did want to add. At speeds under 50mph I have no unusual vibes.

If you're tire has a broken belt, you won't be able to see it unless its really really bad. Try rotating your tires (if you havent already) and that will tell you if its the tire. Unless you have really worn tires and a few of them have broken belts

Check the hubs.

Check the hubs.

Check the hubs.

There, sorry to repeat myself, but it's been mentioned quite a bit in this thread and you haven't responded to the suggestion.

Trust me, I know it doesn't seem like the likely culprit to what you're experiencing, but I thought the SAME THING, and guess what? My death wobble, which ALSO occurred while rounding a curve on the highway, was BECAUSE OF A BAD WHEEL HUB.

I replaced my driver's side hub and the problem is gone. It wasn't even humming that badly, and didn't seem to have any play in it when I had it up on a hoist - but there's no way it's just coincidence that my death wobble went away after i replaced the hub.

SOLVED--
was a loose leaf spring to axle u bolt. Tightened them up and the shaking has stopped. Maybe this wasn't the traditional DW I had. The front end was shifting one way while the rear end shifted the other and hopping all at about 60 movements per second. The Jeep litterally fealt like it would shake itself apart.

Drove home last night with no issues and again into work with no issues. I guess that's what I get for paying a shop to put the lift on. And never getting around to double checking torque afterwards.

Mods can you add a (solved) to my title please.

I just came across this exact problem with my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has a very small lift on it and larger tires. I took it to a shop in which they eventually replaced both upper control arms, both lower control arms, and a few other things I forget what they called them. None of those "fixes" fixed my Jeep, it still had a violent death wobble hitting random bumps in the road. So after all that I myself replaced the track bar, tie rod, and sway bar link and poof... problem solved! So if you are experiencing the same problems, I would try replacing the track bar, tie rod, and sway bars first. Good luck.

Its good that you add what has worked for you... That helps others out as well... But this thread is over 3 years old, and the OP's last post says he found the issue...

Even though you say this thread is over 3 years old, since I found this forum last week via Google search that means others who have a similar issue and search for the same thing couldn't benefit from this old info? I sure wish I would have had an answer to my problem on an old forum somewhere.
