a good system flush will be more effective to help run cooler.
here's another innovative venting idea you may consider.

I agree with Atmos. Nicely said. Along with the flush, another thing to do too, is make sure the coils are kept clean on the radiator and condenser (if applicable). Air flow across the coils are extremely important for cooling. Make sure the fans are in tip top shape too to get the most out of them. You can do electric fan conversions and run one constant like I do, I also run a 180 t-stat. Now, everybody will jump in and say that a lower t-stat won't make it run cooler (been there done that already) and it doesn't necessarily. It makes it run cooler LONGER but eventually will get up to normal operating temp because that is what the system is designed for. I do notice (even before the vents) running an AC fan constant while on the trails with the 180 normally keeps the temps in the 190-195 range even when crawling. I run 2 stock AC fans in mine now. I also like running the 1 electric fan on the trails because it really keeps the trans cooler nice and cool too.

There is no way that all 4 hood mounting bolts would snap before the hood itself buckled. There is no way that the hood could ever go through the windshield like that.

Chances of it happening are slim. But i could happen. You would be amazed at what a crash at highway speed can do to a car.
