I am going to replace my sway bar links after my 3" lift. I have heard that rear links from a early 90s Ford F-250 work good. I am wanting to make disconnects at the same time. I would like to see some of your homemade disconnect and hear how you made them. I am just looking for some ideas. I can't see paying for aftermarket disconnects, because that money can go elsewhere.
Would also like to see what links you guys are running.
Thanks.
I made some adjustable QDs out of tie rod ends, some spare perches that came with my Rusty’s QDs I put on my ‘89, some welded brackets and a handful of parts from the hardware store. Turned out well, but they cost appx $80 plus my time:
Right now Rusty’s Offroad is selling their QDs for $89, down from $120. With the sale it’s worth the money, based on my experience. I’m very happy with them.

I built my Jeep on the cheap. Saved all the pennies I could making parts myself. BUT, the JKS disconnects are AWESOME. For the price they ask, I couldn't build something as good at much of a cost savings. Just not worth the headache. Splurge a bit, you'll smile every time you disconnect.
