Home made bedliner?
I was looking at bedliners online and it seems all the decent ones run from like 85-150 bucks a gal. Was wondering if anyone succesfully made their own bedliner paint. I seen in my research that als bedliner also sells extra rubber crumb that you can add to his liner to make it more agressive,so I was thinking why not just add that to a gal of rustolium black. Tryed asking on my psd forum because I wanna use on my truck not my jeep (gun metal pearl all day ) but they said my idea wasnt even close and rather than telling me anymore on the subject my thread turned into people debating on which bedliners are the best lol. So any advice is appreciated thank you.

Unless you're a chemist, I don't see you diy'ing your own bedliner. Sure you could just add crumbs to paint, but paint isnt very cohesive, and the crumbs will just fall out and you'll be left with a bunch of holes in your bed from the rust. Your best bet would be to find the best brand and go with them.

IMHO you experience with mixing those two together would not result in what your after. If this going into an old beater truck of some kind I guess you could try it and see b ut from what you are saying it is not.
The old adage you get what you pay for applies here for sure. Good luck on whatever you decide.

for a non slip surface, i've dusted a handful of sand over the drying paint, when it dries, you have some grip.

I applied driveway coating to an inside of a fender well on a car once. I did it on accident . my friend just came back from his buddy's shop where his jeep was getting painted and brought some rubbery stuff in a can and left it in my garage . so I put it on the car thinking it was some kind of Berliner or something. Well all I can say is that is tough as nails. I am not sure about using it on the whole car and I hope it doesn't eat through the fenders. But if it doesn't then that's your homebrew bedliner. I just recently found out that the stuff I used was for my driveway lol.
