I came to realize a couple months ago that the previous owner of my jeep left a hole open on my cold air intake tube that was meant for relocating the iat sensor. I plugged it, but my engine had been sucking in unfiltered air through the .25" diameter hole for at least 15k miles maybe as many as 30k+ miles. My engine runs fine now, but how should I expect this affect my engine in the long run?

Ya when I first noticed it I was pretty mad, due to only having 90k miles on the jeep, but I don't think it really did much damage. I just wanted to see if anyone with more experience with engines thinks otherwise.
