"They're awesome projectors and they have a razor sharp cutoff with a blue band. They throw a nice wide beam and illuminate the road like daylight.
The FX-Rs are cool but take a lot more work to retrofit as they are larger. Just do the mini's, they have the same amount of light output and they come with a clear lens." - 1996XJSport

hmm good to know i got on the phone with the guy from retrofit he said fx-r's were the way to go, but maybe ill take your word.. are there any color mods for the minis?

i did some diging on that site and i found a differint how-to on retrofiting the 7x6 idk if you ever saw this

I almost got rid of my Jeep a few weeks back, everything seemed like it wanted to break at the same time. Must be the summer heat over here! I decided that I'm going to keep it, just because I've already sunk a few grand and a million hours worth of work into it and it would be a waste to just start over with a different vehicle.

Now back on topic,
The FX-Rs a great projectors, don't get me wrong. It really just depends on your skill level with fabbing and retrofitting, and how much effort you want to put into the job. You'll have to cut more into the header panel support and more out of the H4 housings to clear the FX-Rs. I didn't want to go that route just for that reason. The morimoto mini's have plenty of light output but it's up to you what projector you want to go with lol. I have seen a color mod on the mini's before. I don't know exactly how to do it though. here's a video of some color modded mini's

As for the other tech writeup on how to retrofit a 7x6 housing, I've never seen it! It's about the same method as what I used, but the whole plastic welding thing is new to me.

I have fifty dollar hids on my car and they are brighter than most peoples around and there just in the h4 housing the car had but the onnes on my jeep are better they don't flicker or anything and they were actually one of the best hid setups I seen around here but I do want real projectors

The projectors won't go in without some fabrication and modding of the H4 housing. You need to cut the rear of the H4 housing to get the projectors to drop into place, and somehow fasten the projectors to the housings (I used sheet metal screws, clear silicone, and foil tape). After that, you have to cut into your headlight buckets, and cut into the header panel support in order to clear the rear of the projectors.

Here's a writeup on how to do it all.

Well I finally got my hids and I love them to death. The housings are made by Anzo and the hids I got from a local store it cost me around $120 for it all

I don't have projectors but I have aimed mine properly like most people don't and i don't flash anyone
Yeah, I got the Autopal units for mine with whatever standard H4 bulb came with the kit. While I'm impressed with the quality of the Autopal H4 housings, I'm not impressed with light output. Only marginally better than the stock sealed beams.

I think I'm really going to have to upgrade the harness and get some good Sylvania Silverstar bulbs before I'll be happy. I'll probably build an upgrade harness for the headlights at the same time I wire up the ProComp 5" lights I got for the front bumper, and the Cree XP-G based LED pucks that I'm custom recessing in the rear bumper. 110 lumens each and a total power draw of 2 watts for the pair. Will be handy when hooking up or loading up the trailer at night, or those "what the hell just dragged across the undercarriage" moments.

But I gotta get those headlights fixed. I literally have handheld flashlights that put out more usable light.
