I put it off for a little waiting to hear something positive....but I finally did it. Figured you guys might want to see this update. We exchanged a couple more texts, but they were just my order number and personal information.
At least I can give you guys some good news.
EDIT: Oh these screenshots are big.

I got him to reply to my message by being a dick and childish name calling. So I guess it works at some point to **** him off enough he gets back to you. I asked him to cancel my head lamp order

In the interest of full disclosure and fairness, I'll say that I got the same text from Kris to today that others have gotten. I have opted to wait a little while longer to get the lights. More than anything at this point, curiosity is still getting the better of me.
I still think it's sad that it took a public shaming to get the guy to do such a common sense thing like staying in touch with his customers, but at least he responded. Not with a ton of specificity, but it's a step in the right direction.
There have been a few issues with the new lights, which is to be expected from a new hand-built product. Not that it makes it better for anyone who is dealing with defects. In general, it does not appear that there are a lot of complaints about his finished products, or even his prices. What I find as I look at threads with complaints on various sites going back years all relates to his lengthy lead times and lack of communication.
Hopefully, he has learned an important lesson and will be more forthcoming going forward, developing better systems and habits of keeping his customers updated. I'll judge the quality of the lights I receive on their own merits and give them a fair review. If they are a good product, I'll praise them as such, regardless of how the buying experience has been. There are many who will take the approach of not getting bitten by the same dog twice, and who could blame them. But if he makes a sincere effort to make things right and shows he can KEEP doing things right by his customers, I don't begrudge him further business.

Good luck on that refund. He's been saying your lights are on the way for so long, what makes you think he's gonna have your $200 bucks. Just saying

Kris got in contact with me tonight and was extremely apologetic. He couldn't refund the original paypal transaction so he just sent me the money I paid via Paypal. He said my lights had shipped and was shocked I didn't get them. He apologized for missing my emails/texts and said he got it confused with someone elses which may be understandable as I am sure hes getting bombarded with emails/texts. Bottom line is he refunded my money and was nice enough to talk with. It shouldn't of gone to this extent, but that's beside the point. Unfortunately this whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth, I hope everyone gets their stuff settled with him. Nice guy, I am sure he makes a good product at an affordable price, but that shouldn't come at the expense of lack luster customer service.

Glad you were able to recover your funds. Hopefully others are as lucky as you are and things go just as smoothly with being made whole again. Unfortunately for him, I think it's too little, too late to get his reputation back.
