So, as I belive everyone can see, I am new here! So hello!

I have a dyer question...I want a transfer case with full time 4wd AND 2LO in it. Is there a way to make this happen with a 231/2 or 241/2?

I do know about the 2LO kit from Teraflex. I am just curious about 4WD in Full-Time and all that...

Thank you in advance for the help!

The 231 with the 2 low kit is your best option,Unless you want to swap in a flipped twin stick dana 300,Or money to burn a atlas 2 t case

Not possible with NP242 (the one with full time).

I plan on grabbing a few things off other T cases from a junk yard, too. I know I can get a new set of planataries and get a 4:1 low range from an NP 241 and also the chain in it is 1/4" wider. The reason for both is because I want this as my daily as well. I know running it in part-time 4wd is a bad idea so...

there's no such thing as 4:1 low range in junkyard units. It's an aftermarket for a np231 and only factory case ever came with 4:1 would be a rubicon's nv241 and it wouldn't swap in

The NP241 is a 4:1 ratio.

you must be thinking of the rubicon from Jeep Wrangler TJ and JK. It's NV241-OR. The gears from that won't fit in any of other t cases.

That makes more sense. I was looking on Wikipedia. It's under new process gear and it has a chart and everything. Is there a way to regear a 231 to a 4:1?

The same company that makes the 2 low has the 4:1 kit for the np231 https://teraflex.com/shop/category?c...+Case&vehicle=

Unless your trying to build a hardcore rock crawler the 4:1 kit is kinda over kill.A lot of people on here wheel with the stock gearing t cases with no problems. And what the kit cost you could run a doubler or underdrive box and get a better crawl ratio.
