common sense is protecting your uniframe. it's the one thing you cant replace
driving on some back roads, over a hill, and through a mud puddle does not count as "romping" on it
He atmos. Frame stiffeners are going to be my next upgrade(really wish I had done it sooner) do you have any recommendations

not T&T. unless you plan on drilling a TON of little holes in it

I really like my HDO's and I felt very confident after speaking with the company rep that they would be a great way to stiffen the frame when used with a cage. being thinner 10ga they welded and shaped to the frame very easy.

but I dented them. I originally had a set from ruffstuff but they were huge in comparison. much much heavier. oval rosette holes and I've had friends complain about them being difficult to weld. but they're beef and they would work great

^^so just weigh that information against what you are looking for in a stiffener and make a choice. both are great

for the front, HDO, liquid iron, dirt bound. take you pick. never got around to installing mine but I had the complete kit from HDO

You're gonna dent anything you plate the rails with if you hit them hard enough.

yeah. I figure the 3/16 will stand a much better chance than the 10ga

It will but the 10 ga will be easier to weld to the thinner unibody.

Hey I really think the frame stiffeners should be a priority, I was looking at rough stuff. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/XJRAIL.html. What do you think?

And you said something about drilling the trac bar mount to the frame stiifeners. SO if I was just about to get a new double sheer trac bar with the new mount would I need to take the old one of, install the frame stiffeners then put the new trac bar mount on over the frame stiffeners?

great product and I love ruffstuff. that is definitely the beefiest option but like I said it all depends on what you're going for. after talking with Brian at HDO about other companies stiffeners he has me convinced that properly stiffening the frame is all about good attachment (not necessarily beefier steel). although the 10ga with HDO is thinner, notice how many more holes they have drilled to really get the plates burned in nice and snug
http://hdoffroadengineering.myshopif...ame-stiffeners

now while that is a great pain in the butt and tedious, I like it. if I went with the ruffstuff I would be tempted to drill a few more "strategically placed" holes

also here is a great read on how to properly weld to the uniframe without damaging it (yes, **** poor welds can actually damage your frame)

yes. I prefer to weld my track bar bracket in place. DO NOT weld a track bar mount directly to your unibody. weld it to the stiffeners only. then a track bar brace going from your bracket, underneath your oil pan, and attaching to the other side of the frame is a great idea as well
