Wanting to fit 35/12.5/15s on my 87 xj with the dana44 rear. Besides regear, lockers cromo shafts, and a sye. I need help piecing a lift together. I want full leaf packs and long arms. Price needs to be under 1600.

Under $1600 for all of it? You covering labor? That'll be the only way you can make it. Parts alone: $5-600 for gears install kit, $400 for lunchboxes, $700 for chromos front and rear.....oh wait, your ran out of money.

Now lift and arms alone for $1600? That's doable. For 35's, I recommend about 4.5"; it's what I'm running. Do shackle relocators and OME leafs, 10" travel shocks, whoever's coils. Longarms will bring a lot of debate here. Inevitably, everyone will tell you to go with radius arms and they're the cheapest. So go ahead and do it. Just don't do rc or iro.....go with Frank at serious or ironman andy at ironman4x4.

That do it for ya?

I had just assumed that wasn't necessarily an option since the OP was asking what his options were.

this is a great kit, a good height for 35's IMO. I have seen this exact kit on two rigs and they seam to flex and ride very nice. I like 5.5" and 35's.

However If you can fab your own that would be the best way to go for $$

I'm just weighing my options. The iro 5.5 was my first plan but if I can piece together a better kit for the same or less why not?

Here is my formula for sucess.

Rock krawler 3 link upgrade 750
rock krawler Trac bar and mount 200
Advance adpaters sye 199
Set of used/new Rustys 808 coils (6.5) under 100
shackle relocation bracket From Liquid Iron industries. 149
chevy 2" drop shackle 50
Bastard pack leaf springs 50-100

Ground pounder fab on ebay (local fab guy for me) sells a copied RK mounting system if you want to piece together your own 3 link and his mounts come welded for 100, or un welded for 75. so money can be saved on that part if you want to save instead of buying a kit.

Unfortunately you are looking to buy stuff at the wrong time of the year. Around june through october I find vendors offer a lil bit better of deals cause buisness is slower and they will deal more.

ALso contact various vendors to get prices, and dont be afraid to tell another one so and so will sell it for this much, but make sure that is the truth though. Lastly dont be afraid of buying used parts.. Most of the time you can get them for 50-60% of new, and the only difference is the paint is scuffed, and might need to replace/rebuild a joint or two.

This is the very setup I just listed above on 36's yeah trac bar is a lil different, but 90% of the parts are used or recycled from other projects I had and sold.

I agree, you should peice it together as you can get a better setup IMO, just wanted to link the kit I had actual experience with.

I left out what I did for shocks, and brake lines.... sorry.

Fronts are Pro comp, and they measure 32 extended 17 collapsed, The rears are Dt 3000 I think they measure 26 extended 15 collapsed. Not really sure on the rears, as I have had them for years, and were witting in the back of the garage.

For the fronts I used some 28" lines, and I stil have more flex then my lines allow.

For the rear I used a dodge Dakota rear line.

Also If you run the shackle relocation brackets, and are willing to comp cut your rig, you can run MJ leaves, and an appropriate length shackle.

The combo I am looking at is getting a Zone 4.5in Lift kit $750. and there Is a vendor on the boards (if anybody knows who I am talking about plees speek up) who dose long arms kits costem made who quotes you for you based off matreals. Last quote i heard was 700 but cost of steal has gone up. His kits are apparently long enough that you can use your lower arms as rock sliders!! that has you at about 1450 probaly closer to 1550 with shiping. and then I am still trying todecied on a good SYE kit.
