HELP! SYE Kit gone wrong
SYE Kit installed, cv shaft installed, everything twists together and fits, goes into neutral. Topped off fluids and greased all the U-Joints. Jeep died in the garage over a period of a week. I did not detach the Transfer Case when i installed the kit. Charged the battery, volts look good. I start the jeep up and nothing happens until I give it gas, and it fights me all the way. It will only run if I stay on the gas and pump it. Why is this locked up?Did I destroy my transmission? Did I put the case back together too tight? I start it in park, and neutral and it fights me all the same. There is a little bit of a whine when I give it gas and it's an ugly burning belt smell. I swear I did it right. HELP A NOOB!!!

What is fighting you? It just wont run? In both my 91 and 00 if the battery died and you jump started it it would run like crap for a few miles, would not idle without the gas pedal. It took it awhile to learn the fuel maps and what not. Same thing in my 97 zj. If that's what your talking about. In park or neutral nothing to do with your sye has anything to do with it running. Charge the battery up and take her for a drive. Give it time to relearn.

Because I've never had that experience with a battery before. We had it connected to cables and had it charged back up, the voltage was right where it needed to be, but wasn't creating enough power. It was my first time splitting the transfer case open, taking the shafts off...etc. I'm broke and can't afford to pay for a second opinion. I was thinking I could have messed something more serious up. I apologize that my comment diverted your attention for 10 seconds, and thread wasn't up to your standards.
