Yeah that control arm has a bit of an angle. If you really want a good ride, you will have to get a drop OR get some WJ contol arms that have the super nice bushing. They are the same size, have a bend for tire clearance, are fully boxed in and stronger, and are the same EXACT length as stock arms. People claim the ride is much improved, but take everything with a grain of salt. You could also fab some mid arms, if you've got the skill.

If you want ground clearance AND a Cadillac ride, you have to go with mid-arms, or long arms. Rusty's makes a full four-link kit that does the same as long arms.

In reality, it's either band-aid or surgery

I too went on a search for a softer (oem like) ride playing with 3 sets of springs - Superlift, Rubicon Express, and Rusty's. By far the best combo has been the Rusty's 150 lb springs, 3/4 inch spacers and Bilstein 5100's. For the rear, I have a bastard pack using S-10 leaves, extended shackles, and shackle relocation boxes. I'm very satisfied with the comfort of this setup.

Good to hear that! I have the 3/4 inch spacer ready to go in with the Rustys. Can you measure your fender to hub distace please.

Mine's at around 21" from hub center to bottom of fender flare. I have a 97 running 31's.

Reporting on my struggle here. Aside from dropping the jeep from a jack right on the ground the....the ride is much improved with a 3/4 spacer and rusty's light duty coils. The ride is perfectly leveled and pretty soft. I might pump the tires to about 28-29 psi even.
