I currently have a 3.5 rustys lift on my 2000 cherokee. I beat her pretty hard on the trails and on the last run I noticed that the shocks seemed to "bottom out" over bumps. What would you recommend for a tough off road shock thats able to handle this better than the rustys off road shock? I dont really care about road manners. Any advice is appreciated.

 

does it ACTUALLY bottom out? If you want a good offroad shock with a built in bump stop look at poly performance BBCS

 

a 2.0 or larger so you can valve it heavily enough. but if its your shocks that are actually bottoming out you need to lengthen your bumpstops.

 

Haven't bottomed out my 9100s, and I don't have true bumpstops yet. I'm probably not jumping it high enough.

 

Shocks should never bottom out or over extend. U need to bump stop or put limiting strap.
