5-90, you posted exactly what I was gonna, lol. On my last vehicle, I bought e-codes from rally lights, and while those shipped, I built a relay harness for my lights, the relay harness helped amazingly by itself, and combined with the e-codes was AWESOME.

also, someone said you don't need to adjust headlights if you've never done it before, yes you do, screws vibrate loose, front ends get tapped, it's always a good idea to make sure your headlights are aligned correctly, it's not very hard to set up an aiming grid on a flat wall and adjust em, just google it

What kind of fuse did you use for your harness

I run that harness with autopal(ebay) h4 conversion:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/200mm...Q5fAccessories

And 55/100w bulbs, soon to be 80/100w bulbs.
Best upgrade so far for sure.

So this set-up from ebay @$27.00 is recommended ?

I'm also looking to upgarde but don't wanna spend another $200.00 on this when this setup will do just fine.

why not just go to your local napa and get the stuff to build one? it'll be cheaper, hella relays were only 6 bucks each at my local baxter auto, and you need two, one for highs and one for lows, some wire, connecters, and a lil time and you've got your own for like twenty bucks max

Yes that is what I run and it is great. Paid less than $100.00 for everything. Just make sure you upgrade the harness as well.

I hear ya on the harness--it seems like a great mod for the price ..I don't want to be blinding people but at the same time there are just so many things ya can't see until your right on top of them.

Also I live in a very congested part of NY (Long Island) to many people and cars and no room left for them..

Trust me you won't be blinding people, unless they are not properly aimed. The only time I have had people flash me is when I have my high's on but thats because they are 100w as oppose to the standard 65w.

I've run the silverstars for 4 years on the XJ.
At $40 each with tax, Sylvania should make em last longer as I need a new set every year. Run the jeep 3.5 to 4 hours daily.
Still run em as they are the best drop in I've found.
I have to aim them a little low as I get flashed a lot when aimed properly. And I do aim them properly. They are bright; especially when you are elevated compared to the weed suckers.

I just recently did a harness upgrade, new housings, and Hella HP Xenon 100/80w bulbs. A huge (super huge) improvement in lighting. I wouldn't hesitate to go with the $27 Autopal E-code housings on ebay. One thing to make sure of is that you mount the relays in an area that wont see much if any liquids. I was stupid and tucked mine in the fender and one night I flipped to my high beams and had nothing due to the relays being wet.

I up graded my wiring before I changed the lights. I went with 12 gauge wire, and made my own harness. With the silver star sealed beam, there was a differents. I am now running DOT legal Hella vision plus, with 80/60 IPF Fat Boys II H4s. I also put Hella 550 fogs on my OR-FAB bumper. They light up very good, and I don't get flashed by other drivers, like the guys with the blue lights. I flash them.

Its really easy. The harness runs from the battery to to relays that are supplied. Mount those somewhere safe. Then you attach the old headlight power plug to the new wire plug and plug in the the new plugs to the headlights. Easiest to do all this with headlights, and front panals off. The housings just put the bulb in and put them in like a regular sealed beam. Very easy, and im new at this stuff myself
