Got the Putco H4 harness with Autolite e codes and 100/90 watt bulbs.

Let me tell you... That ish is bright. My lights were so dim prior, that even though they were way out of adjustment, no one would even flash their high beams at me cause they were pathetic. Guess I actually have to adjust these now.

Course, getting in there, I've now found that my running light (right below the headlight) on the drivers side, the PO broke both bolts off and they are so small drilling and ez outing them doesn't seem possible. I think I'm gonna just drill it out, epoxy the area, then redrill/tap it so it's done right.

What's everyone think on that idea?

I don't think I even have screws holding those in on mine. You have a new body, right? The bezel holds them in just fine. I'm upgrading to new higher wattage osrams.. When I get them off my shelf into my jeep I'll take some pics.

Think I have the last year of the older body, but I could be wrong. The bezel was mostly holding this one in place, as I couldn't even tell it was loose till I got in there. Still though... Once I get on a trail a few times, It'll most likely start wagging its tail like a happy dog and I'll have to fix it anyway. Just figured I'd fix it before it causes more damage coming lose.

Edit... Ya, I have the old front end (not mine, but a 96 with the same front end).

Recently I needed to replace my headlights on my 99 one was bad when I bought it and I threw in a spare I had. And the different shades were irking muh nerves. I went to autozone to get my usual $10 sylvania boys. Well they stopped carrying em. Only had sylvania Xtravision, they were $15.99 a piece. Whatever. I bought em not expecting much. But Wow. It was like night and day. Much much much brighter and better pattern. Totally worth the extra bills.

Update: i installed my putco harness today. It all works. Unfortunately i only got one of my hella e codes so im running the sealed beams that came with the jeep when i bought her. As of now idk how they perform since the suns not down but will get back with more. But the install was very easy. So easy a caveman could do it

I did the Putco upgrade and Eurolight housings with 80/90 Xenon bulbs. It is the easiest, cheapest and most satisfying upgrades. Tried them out this weekend out in the country and found them to be great. Best hundred bucks I have spent on XJ ... so far!

Yes you can run the harness on stock bulbs. You will see a very noticeable improvement in light output
