Why are you considering wrapping them? I've read many times that it is not necessary for our Jeeps

It seems like it would be a good idea because the intake manifold and exhaust manifold are on top of each other. I would think it would lower the intake temps some and cause less heat soak.

Agreed. The issue with heatsoak is when you turn the truck off and it sits for a bit. And even then it only takes a few seconds for the heatsoaked gas to combust upon start up.

The wrap will certainly help you evacuate the heat out the pipe and keep under hood temps lower. The heat retention will also help scavenging of the headers and the exhaust flow, minimal but on the plus side. I apply hose clamps to secure the ends of the wrap. Note: Header wrap can cause damage and deterioration to some header coatings. If you have a factory applied coating, ask the manufacturer if the wrap will affect it. (ex, borla cautions against header wrap on their flash ceramic.) I have used often on steel painted systems. heat shield is also a viable application. See OEM shield above this header.

I was dumb and wrapped my header on install, the wrap collected a bunch of mud and in not much time it started to deteriorate and fall off. I personally will never use header wrap again.

What about these guys they use ceramic coating. I don't know how much they charge but they have a very good reputation online.
