Me and the OP have renix jeeps. The cheapest I have found for OEM is $120-something. Might as well pay an extra $70 for better breathing exhaust.

Are you talking About the own header? Or a aftermarket?

One of the other popular headers out there would be the APN header, which can be had for about 179$.

It is a direct OEM replacement, nothing fancy. Has 2 accordion sections on pipes 1 and 6. My Xj is a 96.

That's what I thought if you delete the egr than you can you the ho header? Is that correct?

There is a clearance issue underneath the #6 intake runner with ho headers on a renix, some guys say it cannot fit...some guys, like me would 'make it fit'.

I repaired my factory manifold, and deleted the egr at the same time. Easy, and no cost involved if you have a welder. I'm too cheap to buy a header...yet.

The APN would require grinding the intake until the spot was paper thin and beating the crap out of the #6 tube. I don't see this being good in any way. Especially when my dad needed a new manifold on his 96.

I've done 2 APN to Renix headers. Just file the intake manifold down a bit near #6 runner, nowhere near paper thin BTW. I say FILE cause that's all that needed doing. Any more than that and the grinder woulda been brought out. Besides not having the EGR bung, the APN does not have an O2 sensor bung either. Both of these bungs can be added, the EGR bung to the header and the O2 sensor bung to the new/modified headpipe. The header also comes out at a different angle to the headpipe and the headpipe needs to be modified/replaced.

Well mine must be all sorts of messed up then. For how off it was, a "light filing" would have done nothing.
