Default Head unit and head lights? One or the other.

Okay, I'm off my phone right now and it's pretty hard to search. But I just installed a new head unit today and it works fine, but when I turn the headlights on my radio turns off now. I am trying to think about how the two can even be closely related, but I can't think of anything. I am going to be hitting this project early in the am tomorrow so any advice you guys can offer me I'd greatly appreciate it.

Okay, I'm at home now and doing some research. Does anyone have a link to just show me a picture of how the wires look Connected from the new head unit to the adapter wiring harness? I bet that is where I went wrong.

Also it is a 96Xj

Alright, well fortunately for me, after two days of checking wires and dealing with best buy idiots I had finally figured it out.

I had bought a wiring harness as you can see to make the easy conversion. Popped it in and matched colors to the new head unit.

Where the problem was, was that there were two orange (one half white half orange) coming from the new harness but no orange coming from the new head unit.

The yellow and red were the only live wires so I had them out too. I had went to best buy (where I bought everything) and their installer guy told me to just cap those two orange off separately and let them be. However that did not work.

So I fiddled around with it for a few days and matched the solid orange wire with the yellow, and the white/orange with the red and it worked! All of my lights work properly, no more blown fuses, and it doesn't cut out when the head lights are turned on!
