Google search "how to tell if head gasket is blown".
Ehow.com has real cut-and-dry instructions on removing a cylinder head for gasket replacement. They're easier to follow than Haynes' or Chilton's instuctions, IMO. Before I did mine, I had only done brake jobs and lifts on jeeps. I did it by myself, and had no issues.

u better hope it just a head gasket bc i thought mine was blown so i took the head off to replace the gasket and i took the head to the machine shop and the head was cracked...so good luck my man
