I will start off the next 3 pages..
I tried a to save $50 by buying Crown adjustable control arms. They did not last six months before the bushing got sloppy and started clunking.
Bought RockKrawler arms as replacements, that was about 3 years ago, holding up extremely well to abuse with no visual signs of wear when I removed them for inspection.

Quality leafs/coils and American made can be found in very few of these kits the one I know of for sure is Rustys and they hold up very well zero sag going on 3 yrs. now. I trimmed my fenders for 33x12:50x15 tires but here is his 3" lift full leaf/coil package.

Here is after I lifted it to 4 1/2" using the same base kit and 1 1/2" Boomerang Shackles and spacers for the lift. Had to spend quite a bit more for the extra's though.

My husband had a rough country that didn't do well for long (granted it was a wrangler not an XJ). And a lot of our friends regretted their rough country's and upgraded to other systems.
I've had a Rock Krawler x-Factor Plus system on my XJ since 2006, and its held up wonderfully. I use it as my daily driver as well and have put over 100,000 miles on it since the lift. I cracked a steering knuckle bracket in 2009, and Rock Krawler sent a replacement based on a picture and a phone call.
I called with various questions over the years and they are always quick to help.

So I would definitely Vote for Rock Krawler.

Grip- I know RC is probably not the best lift company but were you not able to use their lifetime warranty to replace those things?

aroundincircles- That looks nice, what size tires are those.

sycoglitch- Thanks good outline. I would like to start with a 3" lift but for the money for a 3" I could buy a 4.5" and save money.

The biggest problem now is being able to pass up the savings from getting the 4.5" lift kit. The 4.5" x-series kit is the best deal on all their lift kits. You get all of that except the SYE.
Im not swapping their parts yearly. They make cheap crap, lesson learned.

I just picked up a RKS 3 link. Brand new, never installed. Can't wait to put it on. I haven't heard one bad thing about their system yet. Bad part is, they no longer make it. Good part is, I got one, LOL

That looks good. Rustys was my other choice I just heard a lot of bad reviews on them. They seem to be like RC a lot of people love and a lot hate it.

Very bad*** XJ! I wish I could fork out that for a lift but thats way out of the budget. Im trying to stay close to around $1000 all done. which I think is reasonable since I will do a Hack n tap and just use a front drive shaft for now.

When my leaf springs (stock with add a leafs at the time) started to sag replaced them with BDS leaf springs, better rep and no fine print warranty, also American made.
The thing I like about Rock Krawler is even if you start with their budget lift, it is upgradable to any of their upper lifts so you can build slowly over time.

I have a 97 Cherokee and I did the 3" Zone full leaf lift with nitro shocks from Seriousoffroad. The lift cost me $510 delivered to my door and I purchased a IRO double shear track bar that can be used up to 8" of lift. So far i have had no issues with the lift. I did a lot of researching and decided to give the zone a try. Like i read it is a little rough riding but i expected that with any lift. I think i will buy shackle relocation brackets in the future to help smooth it out.
But after 2 trips the the local offroad park i have no complaints.

I also think it gave me more than 3" of lift. here is mine on 31" KM2'S

I started either wanting a Skyjacker, Rough Country or Rubicon Express 3", 3.5" kit. I then narrowed it down and was pretty set on getting the RE kit since it came with more stuff. Now my problem is I have read a lot about the RE 3.5" kits sometimes netting like 4-5" of lift. If that's the case then I started looking at RCs 4.5" X-series $830. I really like this kit because it literally comes with everything except a SYE. I also was looking at Rustys 4.5" advanced kit $875. The 4.5" kits are a way better deal compared to the RE 3.5 kit $584. So I would really like your help choosing the best kit. The Rough Country is the best Deal, but how good is the quality? And I haven't heard much on Rustys lift kits. I just don't want to spend $800 on a lift that will be sagging in 1-2 years. Also this is my Daily Driver, unfortunately Florida does not have much terrain to crawl over so this XJ wont see much flexing and I will not mud it. Mainly for looks and to be more capable than now to go on weekend warrior trips out to my camp.

Where do wheel? There are plenty of places to stretch the XJ's legs in this state. There are a number of offroad parks, national forest, and events for days that have some intensive obstacles

I have Rusty's leafs and coils, and they ride really nice. It's not too bouncy or bumpy, and it handles well at 70+mph on the highway. Rusty's is much better than Rough Country IMO. Like Fred said before, Rusty's leafs and coils are made in the USA, and they hold up real well. Rusty's has had problems with their track bars and control arms in the past, but you can always just go with another company for things like those so you have a real nice kit from the start. Piece it together instead of buying a pre fab kit, and you'll be much happier. Do it right the first time and save money in the long run.

iron Rock offroad FTW. This is all opinion based so don't light me up. I had RC and didn't not like their product as it failed within two years as a daily driver (excellent customer service though). I have OME stabilizer as well and they're great. I have a RE adjustable track bar as well. My lift is a 4" that nets 3" with my overland gear. I don't know if IRO was mentioned but I recommend their 3" lift with adjustable control arms and trac bar.
