Default Have a few questions on a jeep im thinking about buying pleaze help

Im looking at a 2000 cherokee 4.0 autamatic with 105000 on it that has a 3.5 lift but he doesnt now what brand.it has full coils and full leafs on back so i no its not a total cheapo lift. Both back shocks are broke or stripped out and will need new shocks along with fixing the striped bolts. How much will that cost to fix?Has minamol oil on bottom of motor!
Ok and my main question is this. He said it sometimes has a issue when its rly hot outside with it not wanting to start or dying when he stops. He thinks its vapor lock and has tryed heat taping the injectors.Does any body no what that is?Is it a common issue or a major issue? He wants 3750 for it but we agreed on 3300 if i want it?thanks for your help plz let me know what you think!

The rear shocks i assume your talking about he upper bolts being broken. If so thats pretty standard procedure, drill em out or air chisel them out than buy a Bar pin eliminator kit[$50ish] then run nut/bolts through em, ya gotta work them through the holes in the cross brace...no need to actually cut up the floor like some do, just search for "cherokee broken shock bolts" it gets covered a couple times a month over the various forums.....the price of the shocks will depend what ya go with

as for the dyeing issue it could be a CPS, but not positive on that, i also know the 2000-2001 4.0L had some heat soak issues along with certain heads were prone to cracking so i would look into that as well, i cant remember what the head casting number is but its here somewhere and im sure someone will chime in.

$3300 for a jeep that has KNOWN problems is kind of steep, especially if you don't know what you're doing. And by the sounds of it, it doesn't. Work him down to like $1500. LOL

But you know it was hammered if he wheeled it. Even light wheeling will show a lot more damage on a cherokee with a 100k vs a pavement princess cherokee with 300k.. Seriously 1500 sounds fair! lol
