So today I installed my sye, turned on the engine, put it in drive and it is fine but there is a grinding noise that lasts about a second when I put the transmission into park. Runs fine in 2wd 4wd low and 4wd high but when ever I put it into park after being in drive or reverse there is a grinding. I did not pull the tcase to install the sye, I did it while it was on the vehicle.
The only thing I can think of is I didnt put the driveshafts back on so that I could test it first, could that have anything to do with the problem? I have the driveshaft in the shop to be lengthened and should be done by tomorrow afternoon.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah u need the driveshafts to be installed. When applying the breaks, they keep the tcase shafts from spinning. Imagine going 5 mph and throwing it into park. That's basically what u doing without the shafts installed. You're good. Don't sweat it
