Default Great CB mounting spot

Hey everyone Ive decided to post a thread on a great spot to mount a smaller WalMart Cobra CB, minor cutting and Dremel work is required but it turns out great if you take your time and is very solid....Check out the pix and ask any questions you have.... P.S. Don't mind the nasty carpet its in the removal process

Thats a good idea, but for someone as tall as me, that real estate is already taken up by my knees. lol. They're always within an inch of brushing the lower dash panel. All the good ideas are always ruined by that.

Great job btw, takes alot of patience to get a straight cut by hand.

lol im 6'8 and it just barely works out ... it fits perfect without the mic attached but is just a little annoying when plugged in, but the knees aren't too close.... power to the tall XJers'!!

that is a great spot, but they don't call that a knee panel for nothin... if you were ever to get into an accident, you would have one hell of a smashed up knee.

good job tho, it's a nice clean install.

I've seen that somewhere else. Anyway, good job on the install. Funny how they made a small radio with a huge mic. I have the same one in my Comanche on the dash. My XJ has a Cobra 29 LTD on the passenger side of the center console.
