Default Grand Cherokee electrical fan in XJ?

Okay, so I know I made a thread about the upgraded fan clutch (NAPA #272310), but now I have another question. A friend of mine told me I could goto a junk yard and pull an electrical fan out of a Grand Cherokee and it would just bolt into my XJ. The Grand Cherokee one has more blades and they're shaped differently. It's the one where the blades are connected by an outer circle. It certainly does SEEM like it will just bolt right on, but my question is will it actually just bolt right in? I was going to cut past the plug and then use those wires to test it on a cordless drill battery I bring with me. Has anyone done this before? He made it sound like this was also a common upgrade. It gets really hot here so I am trying to do as many cooling upgrades as I can before summer is in full swing. I'm about to change the water pump and the fan clutch so I figure this would be easy to do at the same time.

I just wanted to see if I was barking up the right tree with this before I goto Pull-A-Part and pull it and purchase a giant paper weight. Thanks again.

Don't know about swapability, but I can tell you the stock system cools plenty good enough for many people here in some damn hot places. That said if your running hot address the system and don't mask a bad part in the stock system with a bigger fan. If you truly just want a bigger fan output, look it up and compare the CFM's rather than, a buddy says. Lots of blade configurations out there that produce the same cfm's. I would spend my dollars on new stock parts.
