Got my sye questions
Ok I got my advanced adapters sye kit today and am going to try to do the install after work tomorrow. Question one is can I Toss the case halts in the hot tank to clean them ? Two my transfer case is out of a 95 does it have the caged needle bearings ? If so how are they removed. And I have the vac disco axle now but will be swapping to a later axle in the near future should I install the plug where the vac switch would go ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not new to heavy line work like this but just haven't done a transfer case like this. And my case as it sits on my bench has not selector lever just the stud how do I know it's in 4 low ?

1- Yes, but i'd only do an hour or so.. so you don't start eating the aluminum. Hit it with a brush 1/2 hour in to clean the outter a bit.
2- Not sure which caged rollers you are asking about.. in the case half itself? Had a bud remove these with an appropriate sized socket inserted into the bearing ID and tackwelded. Long deck bolt (with the rounded head and squared under) through the socket and up through a piece of square tube bridging the casehalf. Run a nut down.. and to pull the bearing out. I might be able to post a pic of this later..
3- If you don't need a vac source for activating front axle then plug it.
4- Spin the input, if both the rear and front outputs are locked you have it.. this is with lever all the way rearward. If one is disengaged (2wd) push the lever all the way in other direction.

I've watched that a few times the caged needle bearings on the rear out out shaft. And the hot tank is about a 15 min affair we use it at work to clean our oil pans and aluminum and steel parts. It's a very mild solvent. But wasn't sure if the front case half with the planetary would like that or not

Yeah there's a style change I Dont Know what ones are supposed to have it and not. But it's caged needle bearings on the inside of the gear for the chain I believe. And it's going to be a while before the case is installed the sye just came still waiting on my clutch kit and flywheel for my ax15 swap
