Going to upgrade harness and lights since fixing back up my late sons XJ. Now I know few years back recommendations were the Putco, TrueModes and K-Suspension. I'm now reading that Putco and TrueModes aren't that good due to connectors failing, cheap relays and undersized main voltage wire. Also been reading that the K-Suspension wires are undersized (looks big gauge wire due to the outer jacket but really arent) and of coarse cheap relays also. I'm a believer in you get what you pay for so what are recommended these days? If it matters no fog lights and wont be doing the fancy LED setup as trying to keep it factory looking as possible. Thanks.

I bought my headlight harness kit from jeepcables and it is an oem quality kit that works well. No complaints at all.
Their sku # is "daylight" if you search that its easier to find. Its got 4.9 stars and 57 reviews.

I bought mine here years ago from one of the guys on this forum.
If you ask me it was the same as the Ebay specials that I used to see way back when.
Anyway that was about 12, maybe 13, years ago.
I did have one problem, that was my fault, with a relay getting water in it and corroding.
I just had the 2 relays hanging in there and it turned kinda upside down and some water got it one of them.
But that was it.

Thanks Ralph. I went through the posts and saw a few years back someone here was making them also. Figured few years back so really didn't search his name to see if he still was making them. Since newer posts came up about the wiring harness and he was never mentioned figure he wasn't.

For a reliable, factory-style harness upgrade, go with Painless Performance or American Autowire. They use high-quality wiring, proper gauge conductors, and good relays. Avoid the cheaper brands stick with these if you want durability. If you're willing to DIY, BleepinJeep has a good guide for building your own with top-tier components.
