#1
I'm looking into upgrading my current stock headlights that are Sylvania as they are direct plug in and are very dim I found this light kit but I'm not sure if you need to buy new wiring harnesses people have been saying to buy the Putco wire harnesses and upgrade the headlights like that but I think these are direct plug in these are the the rampage h4 headlights can anyone let me know? Or has installed them?

Alot of people recommend to upgrade the harness when you do the h4 conversion due to the factory harness just sux. All the load in on your headlight switch. With a harness upgrade it draws power directly from your battery and all your switch does now is turn on/off the relays on the putco harness. plus tge factory harness uses thin 14 gauge wire weak. Ive got autopal housings With a harness and ge nighthawk bulbs and i love it.

I bought one off eBay, recommended by Cruiser and it made my stock plug ins brighter. Apparently the factory harness builds resistance and adding anew harness gets rid of that along with taking the load off the switch mentioned by the prior poster. The eBay unit was 20 bucks
The factory headlight wiring sucks and causes headlight switches to burn out.

I had the Rampage H4s for a while but switched to the Hella Vision Plus, the single Rampage housings were not offered yet (or at least not on vendor websites) and I got a pin hole in the lens on the driver side and the reflector rotted out, the Hellas were sold as single units. I will be doing the harness upgrade this summer, the harness actually plugs into the stock harness to utilize the original headlight switch, since my 2000 came with factory fogs I will have to do an extra step in the install. The H4s are a great improvement over stock even with the stock harness. The headlights are direct plug and play.
