Gears and lockers!
I am about to buy/order some stuff here soon and want to make sure that i am getting the right stuff.....
So in order to re gear my cherokee all i need is a ring and pinion set??
Also since i re gear can i still put in a spartan lunch box locker or does it got to be a special type? i am not sure how axles work.
I was looking into this guy who is selling 4:56 gears.
I have two sets of Motive gears
one used but not abused set, (2000 miles on them) 4.56 ratio gears for dana LOW PINON front axle
asking $100 obo
and one brand new (still in the box) 4.56 ratio gears for Chrysler 8.25 rear axle
asking $150 obo

Your 97 is high pinion, not low pinion. The front d300 needs a 3.73-up carrier. Rear is fine. Recommend limited slip like a trutrac or delectable for front. Lunchbox will be good for rear

The C/8.25 should work fine, but I would check with a couple of places to find out what kind of prices I could get buying both front and rear master setup kits and both ring and pinion sets together.

If you plan on doing so you'll need to invest in some specialty tools, not too many people want to even attempt it or invest in the required tools.
The key to doing it right is time, lots and lots of time.
Hit me up via PM if you decide to do it yourself.
