If my rig was that unreliable Id stop wheeling and get an axle that can handle the abuse.

Yeah how is the e locker? I haven't seen too many reviews from an XJ owners perspective. And I'll be running 33" tires. I've got 32's now but will be getting new ones over the winter.

I agree, I've been running my D/30 with the 30 spline shafts and an E-Locker for over 18 months turning 35s and haven't broken anything yet. I try to wheel smart, and not rely totally on the skinning peddle to get me over obstacles.

I love the E-Locker! My Cherokee is the first 4x4 that I've ran a selectable locker, before I ran Detroit lockers in the front and rear. Being able to have an open diff. in the front so I can turn and get between trees, rocks and side hill, but still be able to lock it on demand and climb over rocks, downed trees, etc. It also makes it nice to not have to worry about air lines and compressors.

I've been running E-lockers in both axles (Dana 44's) since 2008 with ZERO problems whatsoever. I'm spinning them with a 5.3L Vortec too.

Well that's how I wheel. Though like anyone else I like to spin the tires from time to time

I'm running the C/8.25 with a Detroit Locker in the rear, but I like the E-Locker so well that if Eaton would come out with an E-Locker for the C/8.25 I would probably change.

I wouldn't change from a Detroit Locker to an Ox-Locker, but I would consider changing to the E-Locker, it is that good.
If on the other hand, I was building the C/8.25, and wanted a selectable locker for the rear, I might go Ox, instead of Detroit, but I would have to get a smoking deal on it, because the Detroit is that good.

Yeah I've yet to hear a bad thing about a detroit full case.
