Making the jump from 31's to 33's in about a month. It's my dd and run 80 miles a day for work mostly hwy and hit the trails a few times a month. I live in CA and gas sucks!! Right now I get 15-16 mpg with an AW4 and 3.55 on 31's.

Sorry to hijack!!
Its good on gas, pretty close to stock I think . Its my DD, I haven't checked for sure what Im getting a gal. But its good for me and my running around.

Good video Duma. Take note that the GC transmissions (ZJ: 42RE & WJ: 45RFE/545RFR) had different gear ratios compared to the AW30-40 (AW4) found in the Xj Cherokee. So how those vehicles act with same axle gear ratios is a little different. Even the OD ratios are different.

Going from a 3.55 gear to the 4.56's with 33x12:50x15's I gained 5 mpg and a lot better performance all around on and off road.

Had 31's on for a while and didn't lose that many mpg and only a slight increase in RPM's over the 33's.

That's interesting, I gained alot of city mpg and performance with my 4.88s and 35s. They muesure 33&1/2 though(km2s) and I really don't like driving on the highway, I'm pretty positive I get a small amount better mpg in the city because of how high the rpms are on the interstate
