Has anyone successfully replaced a metal tank with a 97+ poly tank? If so any tips?

 

I rather have a plastic gas tank they can't rust on the inside,If you want to off road your jeep there is a few different metal skid plates to protect it.

 

Spray the hardware down with pb blaster every day for the week leading up to you replacing it. Make sure the tank comes with a new pump seal or think about getting one. This would also be the time to put a new pump in if it's original...

 

I pulled the tank from a 98 with sending unit, and everything in tact. The donor jeep has 117k on it and ran when parked by a good friend. I was just wondering if there are any plug, or hose modifications that needed done?

I Google searched several variations of the question, and nothing came up. That's at least a starting point. I did pull the body side plug as well have 2 spare pump units from 2 pre 97's. I'd like to have a working gas gauge.
