Model: Cherokee
Engine: 4.0l TB spacer,
GAS SMELL
hello fellower xj owners! i got a 2001 xj and the other day i fired it up and smelled a strong gas smell coming from the filler neck /cap area along with a lil hissing, iwas wondering if any of you guys expeirenced this? im pretty sure its a faulty gas cap . its a locking gas cap is it supposed to do that or release pressure or sumthing? any advice would be great!

I would just go buy a new cap. Theyre cheap so at least u get the locking one off. If u want you can put the locking one on a buddy's car so the next time he needs to get gas he can't ...haha
