Default full width donor vehicles

So I went wheeling today and came to the conclusion that I need bigger tires and that I want to be wider. I'm thinking about going with full width 1 tons. What would be the best junkyard donor vehicles? I want to try to find a matching set with 4.10's.

Sounds like you dont need tons.. 4.10 is acceptable for like 31-33's, the stock axles can handle that. Get some wheels with less back spacing and you'll probably like it

Freightliner's have awesome axles. You should swap in some of those.

Well, I think I do need tons I don't want to run just a 33 or 35 and I know my stock axles wont hold up to my style of wheeling and a 36 or 38 inch tire.

4.10s and 36-38s will suck.

14 bolts come around with 4.56s from time to time with factory lockers.

but 4.56 is still pretty marginal for tires that heavy and tall.

you could get away with a 44 if you baby it. otherwise look into a 60. the only drivers side drop option worth looking at are the ones found in ford one ton trucks.

Look for a set already built. It's usually cheaper in the long run.

There ya go! Lol. But I prefer Rockwell equipment axles, outboard planetaries, and wet disk brakes, plus you get drive line disk brakes for parking...downside is they weigh a ton..literally.
