Front or Rear Locker???
Just wondering what everyone thinks. I am just about done with my steering and suspension upgrades. I ended up doing a hybrid 2" lift.
I don't plan on doing crazy wheeling but I will definitely be on some moderate trails and do quite a bit of off road and snow driving.
FRONT OR REAR ??? Obviously both would be great but budget calls for one or the other.
Thanks

Depends on what type of locker you want to run. If you want to use a lunchbox locker I would lock the front first, since it wont be noticeable unless you are in 4wd.

I say the front first but I wouldn't believe that it is unnoticeable unless you get a selectable locker. I have a Spartan and when I first installed it ,it was very noticeable (poping unloading ratchet sounds) and is still noticeable but you get used to it. After break in and heavy gear oil it is better.

You gave very little information to go on so I guess general answers for now.
Here is what I found when I changed my gears and installed lockers front and rear (both Detroit Lockers) in a D30/Chy 8.25. First you will never know the front locker is installed unless it is engaged in 4wd then everything is locked together and all tires turning.
I wheel in some areas quite often before and after the lockers were installed both auto-lockers and knew the terrain. After the lockers using only 2wd I went into more areas than before where 4wd was required, if fact quite a few more than ever before just using the rear locker.
Used it till I got stuck then went to 4wd and continued with the locked D30. If at all possible consider a better unit for the rear and a lunch box for the D30 as they cost a lot less. If changing gears its the same labor to do both at the same time.
This is just what I found out with mine YMMV.

this totally depends on what d30 is up front and whether you have a d35 or 8.25 in the rear.
if you have the vac disco d30, you have the smaller weaker u-joints so if you lock that, you will be snapping joints all day long.
if you have a newer 95 up cherokee, you have the 297 joints and you will be fine. (if you have abs, no matter the year/axle, you have the 297).
but also, if you have abs, you have the d35. i wouldn't lock that. just lock the front.
if you have 29 spline 8.25, you should be good for up to 35 inch tires locked.
so, what year is your jeep and what t-case and do you have abs brakes?
also, if you have lsd in the rear, you will need a new carrier, this means a gear set up, so front wins here.

The only problem with having the front locked is snow wheeling. Locking the front with an auto locker and driving in snow, or going snow wheeling is difficult because the front end will sometimes decide not to unlock in corners. (So you can't turn!)

I am currently locked in the back with a locker for the front waiting to go in. Got both for like 450 or something like than(lokka). Like some have said you do kinda notice it in the back, it locks and unlocks(ratcheting sound). I have had 0 issues and love being able to barely idle through **** rather than WOT. And on the Disco 30, my buddy broke both shafts, and one U joint all at the same time in his, on 31s
