Default Front end stuff

Am waiting to put on my tie rod until I get my wheel hubs and ball joints. I am wanting some opinions on why buy the high end ones. Ball joint for instants. $30 for a set or $180 for heavy duty. Seen the same thing for the hubs. What do you think. I am running 33x12.5. It will be 75% on and 25% off road in town daily driver. I do not plan to go bigger and will be doing all the work myself.

Unless you NEED the super duper Heavy duty high $$ stuff, don't pay for it. Most don't. At the same time. you get what you pay for.

What's "gimmick" about heavy duty? If you wheel the **** out of your rig on a regular basis, get HD...if you street it the majority of the time, don't...HD stuff is for those who wish to push their rig harder. Don't spend the extra coin if you don't. No gimmick.

Let me rephrase that. Unless you are Beating the crap out of your stuff. You don't need the High DOLLAR stuff. NEVER buy cheap stuff, unless you have NO choice. IF possible buy SERVICE or professional grade at minimum. That's what you would get if you went to the stealership for service.

As far as China is concerned.. Personally I avoid the stuff Made in China, although I know that most of the steel used to make the USA Made stuff is from china.

ball joints suckalacockus. don't skimp on those. do yourself a favor and buy the parts marked SPICER

hubs. eh. they go bad every so often but they're easy enough to replace. I would just slap another one on that I had laying around the garage or my buddies garage. it's pretty easy to tell if they're any good or not

OE Spicer ball joints that cost $200 last 15+ years *on stock tires*

Budget line ball joints that cost $30 last 2-3 years *on stock tires*

How often do you think you'll change the cheap junk running 33" rubbers?

Same reason you don't buy a CPS from AutoZone. Lifetime warranties on cheap garbage aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

here we go

http://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetrai...n=D%2fS706944X

I was running those, but I'm pretty sure I just went and picked them up at a reibes or wherever parts store. $130 and totally worth it

Unless your just trying to fix a piece a junk to try and unload it and not drive it yourself that's fine, junk parts junk car. I have sold a bunch that way at auction or to dealers who check them out a little.

I would never put this cheap and some not so cheap Chinese junk on anything I own, unless its NA anywhere else. This goes for steering, driveline, brakes or anything attached to them that I or my family will drive.

I apply the same quality to the firearms I carry, I not going to bet my life on either. Just the old man in me I guess
