Front driveshaft in rear.

I used a RR SYE kooks exactly the AA ones when I lifted mine from 3" (Rustys full leaf/coil pkg.) no shims in it and stock shackles used.
Going to the 4 1/2" using a 1 1/2" Boomerang Shackle and adj. coil spacer zero fitment issues with the leafs. I did have a 3/4" TC drop kit that was removed when the SYE was installed. I did have to shim the differential in my 99 also with the SYE.
The driveshaft from a front 97 didn't look right on mine so found a custom made one on eBay with the large joints for $199 + shipping. Buy the time I rebuilt a stock shaft plus the cost it would have been about the same cost as a custom made one.

I ordered an angle finder, should be here Friday. I'll be gone all weekend so I guess I'll check it again on Monday or Tuesday.

This is how I feel really. I got lucky my eBay shaft was a decent shape plus I had already bought new Spicer joints from the last shaft. With the effort and lost time, I'm sorry I didn't just go with one from Adams driveline or similar. I may still go that route as my rear shaft is still the front one. It work but I would like that security of the larger bore of a custom shaft

Sry, I should have been more specific. When I say custom larger one, quality custom DS at larger but don't lack on the thickness.

I wondered when I bought my driveshaft about the quality we all know what can happen on eBay at times and for $199.....
This was one of those pleasant surprises we always hope for and seldom receive. This one was quite nice and from a small shop can't remember where but the shipping was not to bad either.

I checked with a angle finder today and it looks to be ~2* high so my shims look to be ~3.5* so I'm going to put them in backwards and hopefully cure the vibes. Should I leave it ~1.5* low or move the shackle to the 2 inch instead of 1.5 inch level and hope it adds back a degree or so. Thanks

Yea lol I had a brain fart. Forgot your issue was the opposite. Yes, you'll have to flip the shims around. As for the degree of angle. You said you were at a 2* difference. The pinion should be about 1* below the DS. I'm trying to think if 3.5 would be too much. What physical angles did you get

Double check. But remember if you shim the opposite way, both numbers change iirc. Where as, yes pinion goes down the 3* but I forget if the DS will equally rise. Def someone that's done this needs to chime in. I've gotten lucky with my angles
