It's been 3 years, I'm sure you have discovered the slip-shaft in the front driveshaft by now..

Dunerunner, what size tires do you want to run? You could just install bushwhacker flat flares and run a 31" tire.

What you should watch for; with the lpd30 is to not lift it without adjustable control arms. The adjustable lower control arms and uppers if can manage will adjust your chamber so you don't get vibration or death wobble.
My suggestion would be to keep it around 4.5-5.5" of lift and you shouldn't run into too many problems if you do what was discussed. And the NP242 is the best Tcase out there, love mine. It's smooth riding with it in full time 4x4, no binding and easy terrain transitions. Only down fall was that the SYE and drive shaft were a lil pricey.. But worth it!
You rock chewdog. Thanks for the confidence boost.

I've been getting some conflicting advice from some other Jeepers here at CF. Granted, many of them only have one or two of the 'variables' that you and I have to deal with.

Come on over here and join the discussion so we can help out the others who have our rigs. I know there are more of us; but no one has come to a consensus on the best way to lift our rigs!

Thanks again Chewdog. If anyone else here wants to hop on over, I would seriously love your advice. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna take the plunge. Just need somewhat consistent advice!

Hey Steve, I'm really stuck on a 4.5" lift and 33's. I love how they look. I would like that extra clearance so I can haul-butt on the dunes without worrying about the occasional sandstone pebble (7"-9") in the way.

Full disclosure, I know that a 3" and 31's are better for the gearing and overall success with vibes. But I also figured since I had the 2001, NP242 with LPd30 that I would be just as well to get a more complete 4.5" kit and use the adjustable LCA/UCA they usually come with (which I absolutely need). I assumed since I'd have to adjust regardless because of guaranteed vibes, I'd go 4.5" and try to model my adjustments after the folks with my setup that found success.

However, I'm open to suggestions. I'm not afraid to do any of the work, I just tend to be over calculated with everything. I need to know the end before I begin. Bad habit. Hard to break.

the type of control arms don't affect pinion/caster, the rotation of the axle affects it
