Front Bumper Opinions
On our Crusader, the winch bumper from the grill to the face is less than 8". It's the minimum amount of space without having to trim the grill for the winch. We also don't full sink the winch to allow for the tappered bottom to help even more with clearance.
On a full sunk bumper (including our DIY) the grill to face is always going to be around 10-12", plus since the winch is all the way down into the bumper, it's going to hang down more.
On a full sunk bumper (including our DIY) the grill to face is always going to be around 10-12", plus since the winch is all the way down into the bumper, it's going to hang down more.

I'm digging Serious' prerunner style winch bumper. it ties in to the frame and doubles as a steering brace. They ship it with Grade 8 hardware too!
May pull the trigger on it when I'm ready to move on to armor.

I'm personally going with the JCR Prerunner Winch bumper when I get enough cash. Wish I had enough to get one with the back in black sale they've got going :/

I would probably go with the second, looks like it would fit your jeep the best. I guess it really comes down to how much you wanna pay, cause they're all different in price. As far as the rc bumper any protection, light bar stinger and so on are extras and will continue to bring the price up where as it seems the other bumper already have them. But if your just looking for a bumper RC looks fine. You should really find people that have each to get an idea for the goods and bads like mounts and such.

My personal favorite was the T&T customs bumper but i did some pricing and found out that it would cost 749$ to buy it and have it shiped to my house, which is too much. The same with the ORFab front bumper - too expensive. I like the JCR bumper, but they are also just a little too much money that i would like to spend. I like the "AJ's OffRoad Armor" "PhatXJ" bumper but i found somting too good to pass up. I looked at "Nates 4x4" front bumper and found a great deal... a front winch pre-runner front bumper AND a rear bumper with d ring tabs and a 2 inch reviever mount for only 650$!! Not to mention FREE SHIPPING!!
As of now i think this is going to be my choice, however when i get them they will just be raw steel.
And advice or input on what to put on them? Has anyone ever put bedliner on a bumper?

Its time for me to put a front bumper on my cherokee!
I have a Mile Marker 9500lb winch so im definitely looking for a winch bumper. I have done lots of searching and these are my three favorite:
T&T customs - http://www.tntcustoms.com/Jeep/Chero..._Bumperxj.aspx
AJ's Offroad - http://www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/produ...cat=251&page=1
Rough Country - http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-xj-...mper_1057.html
Im just wondering what everyone thinks and if anyone has any previous expirence with any of these brands. If you have any information about winches, winch bumpers, tips about anything of the sort, or know any other worthy winch bumpers in the <600$$ range.... please share! Thanks for the help!

I've been shopping for one for mine. The problem I have with nearly all of them is how far they stick out. This isn't a problem if you have a 4"+ lift and 32"+ tires. But on a milder built XJ they just look out of scale. I really like the looks of the new XRC Smittybilt unit, but it still sticks out a lot for mine with just a 2" lift and 30's.
Personally, the one at the link below has been my favorite by far. And if I can send a few greenbacks to a fellow member instead of some giant corporation, all the better.

I never gave any thought to approach angle, but I live in south Louisiana and there are no hills here that weren't put here, so not really a concern of mine...

+1 for the JCR winch bumper. I love mine and its a great bunch of guys to work with. Top quality product. Far superior to any of the mass produced bumpers on the market.
